A versatile young singer, acclaimed for her "rich and velvet-like low register" , Sophia appeared the last season both as a soloist and as ensemble member in international stages and festivals some of which are the Auditorium de Lyon, Grand Opera d'Avignon, Opera de Dijon, Philharmonie de Paris, Ambronay Festival, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Utrecht Early Music Festival, Elbphilarmonie in Cologne, Göttingen International Handel Festspiele, Heinrich Schütz Musikfest of Dresden Schwetzinger SWR Festspiele, Ljubljana Early Music Festival, Stockholm Early Music Festival, International Bach Chamber Music Festival of Riga, Latvia, Opera Noord Holland etc.
Future solo engagements include, between others, her first collaboration with the Greek National Opera
(Εθνική Λυρική Σκηνή) in which she will perform the part of Ozias in the production Juditha Triumphans - Vivaldi (April 2021), under the baton of Markellos Chryssicos with the stage direction of Thanos Papakonstantinou.
Sophia was recently heard in the the role of Marquise de Merteuil in the Vivaldi Pastiche Opera Dangerous Liaisons with Opera2day, where she performed arias from the composer's most known works such as Orlando Furioso, La Verita in Cimento, Tito Manlio, Teuzzone & Atenaide, all in a newly written libretto in the subject of the known book by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos.
Some months previous she made her Greek debut performing as La Messaggera in Monteverdi's L'Orfeo in Megaron, Athens with the Ensemble Latinitas Nostra under the musical direction of Markellos Chryssicos.
With the same role she traveleld to Lisbon, Portugal with the ensemble La Venexiana, directed by Davide Pozzi.
Other recent highlights were tthe roles of Speranza (L'Orfeo-Monteverdi) Ericlea (Il ritorno d'Ulisse-Monteverdi) , Sleep & Autumn (Fairy Queen - Purcell), Zita (Gianni Schicchi - Puccini), Sally (A hand of Bridge - Barber), Dido & Sorceress (Dido & Aeneas - Purcell) 3rd lady (Die Zauberflöte - Mozart) and more.
As a soloist she has worked in Opera productions,
Oratorios, Romantic & Early music concerts around the world working with conductors such as Ton Koopman,
Gabriel Garrido, Leonardo Garcia Alarcon, Markellos Chryssicos, Davide Pozzi, Adrián Rodríguez Van der Spoel, Quentin Clare, Matthias Pintcher, Richard Egarr, Andres Locatelli, Alfredo Bernandini, Sigiswald Kuijken, Marcus Creed, Ivo Meinen, Teunis van der Zwart, Menno van Delft and more.

She is since 2020 a core member of the House Chorus of the Dutch National Opera and a founding member of the ensembles Seconda Pratica, Himeros and Broke Konsort.
In recording Sophia is to be heard as a soloist and ensemble member in the new CD recording of the ensemble, Musica Temprana (dir. Adrian Rodrigues van Der Spoel), "Muy hermosa es Maria" which was released December 13th of 2018 and in the first CD recording of the ensemble Seconda Pratica (dir. Jonatan Alvarado & Nuno Atalaia), "NOVA EUROPA" (released November 2016) .
In August 2018 she recorded a CD of Motets of Alessandro Grandi as the mezzo-soprano of the ensemble Accademia d'Arcadia in collaboration with the instrumental group UtFaSol.
As a choir member she collaborated with the Ensemble Elyma (dir. Gabriel Garrido) in the recording of Le Temple et le desir" in music by Mazzochi ,and in "Christmas in Naples" of the Ensemble Odyssee (dir. Andrea Friggi).
In January 2020 she is very happy to record a new CD as a guest of the Vezelay festival, with Seconda Pratica under the guidance of Mrs Rebecca Stewart with a program based on Josquin.
Sophia has been awarded in competitions (2nd prize in the 21st National Singing Competition in Greece, finalist in the Maria Callas scholarship on 2009, audience prize in the Prix d’Harmonie competition in Rotterdam 2010) and has been a K. Kyriacopoulos scholar for the period 2009-2012 and a Sweelinckfonds scholar for the year 2013-2014
Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in a family of musicians, Sophia obtained her Bachelors degree with highest honours in Classical Singing and Opera in the State Conservatory of her hometown on 2009 in the class of the bass, Nikos Kapetas.
Passionate and completely dedicated to music and the art of singing she decided to continue her studies abroad starting in Germany where she studied for a year with prof. Cheryl Studer.
Later, Sophia, moved to the Netherlands and followed double training: Historical Performance singing under the guidance of mezzo-soprano Xenia Meijer and Classical Singing under the guidance of Valerie Guillorit towards a Masters degree.
Currently she's coached by David L. Jones, Xenia Meijer & Hanneke de Wit.
